The article view in ARGUSintelligence is the central tool for analysing and managing individual media articles. It offers a structured interface with multiple tabs and functional areas, allowing users not only to read articles but also to evaluate, comment on and process them using AI-powered tools. Below is a detailed explanation of each section.
Original Article Display #
This section displays the article as it was originally published. It serves as the starting point for all further analysis and evaluation.
Contents:
- Title: The full title of the article.
- Publisher / Source: the origin of the article, e.g., “LegacyCH”.
- Date & Time: both the publication date and the system delivery timestamp are shown.
- Article Text: the article is displayed with a preview image and a text excerpt – ideal for initial content review.
Top action bar – quick functions at article level #
Located directly above the article, this action bar provides essential tools for immediate interaction with the content. These functions allow users to quickly respond to articles without switching views.
Functions:
- ✏️ Edit Article: opens an editing window where the article text can be manually modified.

- 🌐 Translate: automatically translates the article into another language – useful for international sources.

- 😊 Generate sentiment: analyses and displays the article’s tone (positive, neutral or negative).

- ⭐ Mark as Favorite: saves the article as a favourite for quick access or highlighting in reports.
- Add Label: adds a label to an article overview.
Metadata – technical and analytical background data #
The metadata tab provides all structured information related to the article. These details are especially important for monitoring, reporting and assessing the article’s reach and relevance.
Contents:
Monitoring data #
- Publication Date: when the article was published.
- Delivery Date: when the article was received by the system.
- Subscription Number: internal reference number for tracking.
- URL: link to the original source.
- Source: name of the media outlet.
- Proofread: indicates whether the article has been manually reviewed (e.g. ❌ = not reviewed).
Additional metadata #
- AEV (Article Effectiveness Value): total and calculated values – currently both 0.
- Reach: indicates how many people were potentially reached (currently 0).
- Country: country of origin (e.g. Switzerland).
- Language: language of the article.
- Author: displayed symbolically if available.
- Channel: type of media, e.g. online.
- Page Impressions/Visits & User Stats: currently marked as “Not available” but intended for future analysis.

Abstract – article summary #
The abstract tab provides a condensed version of the article. This is especially useful for briefings, internal reports and dashboard integration.
Functions:
- View Abstract: displays an existing summary.
- Edit or Create Manually: users can write or adjust the abstract manually.

- 💡 AI-generated abstract: with one click, an automatic summary can be generated using artificial intelligence – ideal for saving time and ensuring consistency.

Comments #
This section supports internal collaboration. Comments can be used to document observations, evaluations or tasks related to the article.
Functions:
- Add Comments: users can leave notes or feedback on the article.
- Team Collaboration: especially useful for analyst teams, editorial staff or PR departments working together on media monitoring.
